Watsonville Mural Archive

This mural was created by Justine Tot Tatarsky in 1991 outside the former Watsonville City Hall. This monument was unveiled on the 2nd anniversary of the Loma Prieta Earthquake, October 17, 1991 as part of city-wide celebrations of the their recovery from the disaster. Watsonville was the closest town to the epicenter of the 7.1 magnitude quake and suffered the loss of many buildings and one life to which this mural is dedicated to, Elida Ledesma Ortega.
